The top block is a Sanitary Commission block made up of CW fabric with stripes of another fabric. The log cabin and Lady of the Lakes blocks are for the batik quilt that I am making along with the CW quilt. The LC has a red center which stands for the hearth of the home. The story that I was told also included a yellow block which stands for the sun or light shining in.

Love that Lady of the Lake...that paler fabric and the violet are a stunner together. The batik quilt is going to be wonderfully rich...a real delight to look at. The contrast in working from the subdued CWs then to the vibrant batiks must be interesting. Love them all. Oh dear...does that mean more buying of batiks...I do like them.
