Home Remedy for Mosquito Bites

I knew that I was going to get ate up alive when I went to pull the weeds in the fenced in area for my doggie.  The back of my legs looked like the mosquitoes were playing darts.  LOL!!!  Dummy me wore shorts.  It's too hot for sweats or jeans, let alone shoes.  I had whelps all over the backs of my legs.  It felt like I had gotten in a batch of poison ivy.  Shudder!!!!

This what I used to get the swelling from the bites to go down.  I'm not itching either.

I ran a tub of warm water. Added approximately a cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and a good dose of Tea Tree Oil to it.  I love a hot bath, so, I adjusted the temperature after I got in.

It helps to have a good book while you are soaking in this concoction.  I'm currently reading a book by Max Brand called, "Thunder Moon's Challenge".  Not my normal genre, but I do like a good western here and there.

I still have a bit of swelling on one leg, but no where near what I had before I soaked in the tub.
You might stink like Tea Tree oil, but it is well worth it.

Update on My Desk....

My desk after two coats of stain.
The drawers after being sanded, stained, and then sanded again.
One of the new knobs.

I used a Minwax wood stain.  It's a base coat that has color added to it.  The color is called Antique Jade.  Clean up is easy since this is a water based stain.  I keep a box of latex-free gloves on hand for projects like this.  The gloves are good for when you are making your favorite jalapeno poppers too.

I needed to get a few things in town today.  Decided to go ahead and get new knobs while I was out and about.  The knobs are antique nickel.

The drawers are done except for a few touch ups.   I need to put another coat or two on the desk.  Not sure if I like the color or not.  I'm not going to put a top coat on this one like I normally do just in case I want to do something different.  We'll see......

CW Hourglass

Another one down and three maybe four more to go.  I was laying the blocks out on the bed this morning and noticed that one of the blocks was a wee bit on the the smaller side.  Not sure if I can fudge it in enough.  Going to wait until I get the other three finished before I decide.

Another Flyfoot

I've been on a roll lately.  Finished another block this evening.

This block was made in CW Reproduction fabrics.  Not sure which one I like better the batik one or this one.  I love bright colors, but I really like the color of this fabric too.  There are five more blocks to go if I want to make two separate quilts.  I have an idea, but I'm not telling.  I'll have to lay all of the blocks out on the bed when I get done with the other five and go from there.....

Batik Flyfoot Block

It was raining earlier this morning.  Decided it would be a good day to stay inside and do some handpiecing or crocheting.  I finished my Flyfoot block and got the CW reproduction one cut out.

Rain, rain, go away.....

I'm just kidding!!!  LOL!!!  I love the rain even though I get tired of it after a few days.  It's just spitting outside for now.  Hope it waits until after I get to work before it downpours.

I got up early this morning and finished the hst's for the Flyfoot block.  The results of having insomnia.  It's one of the blocks for the batik quilt that I'm handpiecing.  I started the batik quilt at the same time as I as the CW quilt along with some really nice ladies on a quilting forum.  I'm way behind.  Try a couple of years or so behind.  As I always say, better late than never!

Here's another flower for the baby quilt.

The pattern called it a round flower.  I think that it looks a little like a rose.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
